We love vacationing on LBI. It is so peaceful. I even come down before and after the high season for a day trip

It is like heaven on this island in the winter months. No traffic lights, no out of state visitors who don't know how to
drive, and it doesn't take 3 hours to get back onto the island and sit in tremendous amounts of traffic if god forbid you
have to go shopping in stafford or something. Otherwise, It's the best place to live and I would not want to live anywhere
else in the world. Love it!!

I live on LONG BEACH ISLAND, not LBI, driving your SUV .....ugh!!!!!! Slow down people take a deep breath. Come on, you can say it,"Long Beach Island"...sounds nice! Not Yo, goin' to LBI...Oh My God, give us a break please????

OK - somebody please tell - should it take 40 minutes (or longer) to get a clam to steam open? I was told that if they're fresh it could take that long - I JUST DON'T BELIEVE IT!

i love lbi i had all my good times there joepops is the best my favorite store is sunsations if i were rich i would be living at lbi the whole island is great people are nice cant forget the icecream trucks the bells.....

Like many of you I am sad to see the Hands Store close. As a young child I have many wonderful memories of my parents,grandparents,and great grandparents making Hands their first stop as we all arrived on L.B.I. for our summer vacations. My brother, sisters and I would be filled with excitement as we picked out everything from games, to buckets, shovels,swim suits. We knew this was the start of our wonderful vacation. I'd like to say thank you to the owners of Hands and all of their staff for three generations of great customer service. We will miss you.

My mom is originally from New Jersey and we go there every summer for our family reunion. We've never had a bad time in fifteen years! Our favorite places: Bay Village Pizza, Country Kettle Fudge, the bay (my uncles live at the very end of delaware avenue so their backyward IS the bay), Fantasy Island, Thunder Falls and the mini golf place next to it, Hand's (all Beach Haven). And the used bookstore on your way off the island...
I heard rumors that the golf place next to the arcade is gone. Is that true?

I love Long Beach Island. Long Beach Island is the best place in New Jersey. There is no other beach that i enjoy going to more than Long Beach Island. I look foward to going to Long Beach Island every year. By the way the best miniature golf place on the island is Flamingo Golf. It's GREAT!

Ahhhhh LBI....Surf City.....I miss you!
I would love to hear from any of my beach friends! Babs and Robin (I am glad I finally found you, Robin!) Linda and Lynda, Nancy and Renie and Sue, oh those were the days!!! You don't know what you've got till its gone....all you teens and everyone else who is blessed with summers on LBI, please cherish the time you have there. I thought mine would never end but no one knows the future, all I know now is I wish I had paid more attention to the life I was leading as a teen on the beach! Working at the Surf City 5&10 (my boss was Florence, anyone remember her?) and Bill of course...I miss my Nana on 5th Street, who kept us coming back year after year. House still there, Nana gone, along with part of my precious past. One day I will be back, mark my words! Feel free to email me if you want! Especially if you remember me.

My Grandparents used to own a house in Beach Haven, but have now sold it because of the death of my Grandfather. Our LBI neighbors bought the house and ***RENT IT***. It was and still is a BEAUTIFUL OCEAN FRONT house. The pavilion is there, sometimes your lucky and a wedding is happing down there!! It has 3 bedrooms, 1 1/2 bathrooms the 1/2 is down in the garage, a kitchen that was being remodeled in October of '04! I saw the plans WONDERFUL and ALL BRAND NEW appliances! A HUMONGO dinner table and a wonderful living/family room w/ TV VCR Cordless caller ID phones!! A Grill Out side shower to get all the sand off a huge rap-a-round deck (from the small side on the north to the bigger east side which is facing the ocean to a even BIGGER South side with a VERY nice table). If you LOVE LBI you should rent that house for a week i
guarantee it will b the best ever!! LBI is MY ALL time FAVORITE because it has CLEAN beaches Lifeguards to help save lives FUN activates like Fantasy Island (Beach Haven) Bay swimming stores and shops left and right. Who needs a board walk when their on/at LBI??? not me! This is JUST for LBI>> i enjoyed coming down ALL the time in my younger years and now that im getting older im thankful for the Well's and Laster's for making my trips to LBI possible. I love to baby sit and love spending time at your beaches and in Stores or just walking on the sidewalks. I feel so relaxed, it’s peaceful, and I fell like i'm at home. So i'll see you over the fourth of July weekend in 2005 Love ya LBI!!

LBI is more than a vaction spot it is state of mind whenever i go there i am invigorated.i lived there last summer and visited for many summers before but then we had to sell our house.but if you can make it to the island go out and venture the beautiful beaches.
